Job summary

Sysco, Stockton distribution center, is seeking a dock associate to support Transportation and Warehouse teams in loading, unloading and dispatching according to company standards.

You will assist with moving trucks and trailers, ensure proper loading and securing, and maintain refrigeration operability and sanitation throughout the shift. The role requires vigilance on safety, basic math, and English proficiency, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 1 year tractor-trailer experience preferred; CDL strongly preferred.
• Class A CDL is preferred and may be required at some centers.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English; basic math skills.
• Willingness to work non-traditional hours and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Move trucks and trailers between locations according to door assignments to complete loading quickly.
• Ensure trailers are loaded and secured; verify refrigeration unit operates before moving from dock.
• Maintain food safety by monitoring temperatures and sanitary conditions in trailers and yard.
• Perform trailer sanitation, inventory equipment, and log items as needed.
• Inspect equipment daily and coordinate with management for repairs or outside service.
• Handle returned merchandise per standards and coordinate with others during shifts.
• Picks up local backhauls or makes deliveries when required.
• Communicate loading issues or safety concerns to supervision; work overtime as needed.
