Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina is seeking Donations Trailer Attendants to be the face of Goodwill to donors, assisting with receipts and donation processing.

You'll unload donations, sort and store items, keep trailer areas clean and safe, and work outdoors in varying conditions; physical tasks include lifting up to 35 lbs (50 lbs in some positions) and occasional stairs or ladders.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload donations from donors’ vehicles and issue receipts.
• Sort and store donations.
• Maintain cleanliness, order and security of the trailer area.
• Work outdoors in extreme conditions; some locations have heating/cooling.
• May require standing, bending, crouching, reaching, stooping; lifting up to 35 lbs; occasional stairs/ladders up to 50 lbs.

Job Description

Our Donations Trailer Attendants are the "face of Goodwill" to the donors who make our work possible. Our Attendants go out of their way to help our donors and to acknowledge our donors' support.

• Unloading donations from their vehicles, and offering/issuing a receipt for every donor.
• Sorting and storing donations.
• Maintaining cleanliness, order and security of the trailer area at all times.
• This position will require working outside in extreme conditions, but most trailers have some form of heating/cooling (fans). Work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, recurring bending, crouching, reaching, stooping or similar activities. May also require frequent lifting of moderately heavy items up to 35 lbs and for certain positions, frequent climbing of stairs, ladders or step stools may be required. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
• EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• EXPERIENCE: Previous customer service experience is preferred.
• HOURS: Trailers are open Monday-Sunday. Hours will vary depending on location
• Pay: $15.00 per hour
