Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, seeks a Forest Maintenance Worker to support outdoor maintenance tasks across State Forest lands. You will care for facilities, operate equipment, maintain roads, and assist with emergency response and habitat improvements.

This seasonal, full-time role runs March through November with no healthcare benefits; standard hours apply, and overtime/travel may occur. Residency and valid PA driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in laboring or maintenance work.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training accepted.

Responsibilities

• Facility care: Clean, repair, and maintain forest buildings, trails, tools, and equipment.
• Operate specialized vehicles, machinery, and tools to complete maintenance tasks.
• Maintain forest roads by grading surfaces and clearing rights-of-way.
• Respond to search, rescue, and wildfire events as trained and assigned.
• Assist with snow removal, supply delivery, boundary work, and habitat improvement.
