Conservation Corps North Carolina, a program of Conservation Legacy, seeks an AmeriCorps State Parks Piedmont Trail Assistant Crew Leader to help reopen and repair trails in North Carolina state parks. The position is based out of Bahama, NC, with a 9 days on/5 days off hitch and 10-hour workdays in rugged terrain.

As ACL, you will support the Crew Leader, coordinate project tasks, and mentor Crew Members while promoting safety, teamwork, and learning in a seasonal outdoor setting.

Formación

• US citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident
• At least 17 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent; or agree to obtain one
• Willingness to provide info for a National Service Criminal History Check
• Commit fully to the program and its mission
• Ability to manage crew life and 40–50 hour weeks
• Flexible with schedules, weather, and project needs
• Physically fit for long days in rugged outdoor settings
• Must be able to speak, understand and write English

Responsabilidades

• Reopen blocked trail corridors and restore public access
• Trail construction and maintenance including tread, drainage, steps
• Rock and rough timber construction
• Support Crew Leader with project management and logistics
• Mentor Crew Members and promote safety and learning
