Job summary

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) seeks an Electronic Technician Trainee to help maintain and repair electronic traffic signal equipment in District 05 / Unit 751. The role includes installing and maintaining traffic systems, controllers, lighting, and related devices, with a focus on safety and reliability.

Work schedule is Monday–Friday 7:45-4:15. A valid Louisiana Class “B” Permit or Commercial License may be required before appointment, and DOTD supports training

Qualifications

• No experience or training is required.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain electronic traffic equipment and systems, computerize traffic signal controllers and equipment, and video vehicle detection equipment.
• Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment, including indoor and outdoor lighting, HVAC, refrigeration, emergency power plants and control panels, and related facilities.
• Maintain and repair roadway lighting, marine navigational lighting and aircraft beacon lights on fixed and movable bridges; operate movable bridges as needed, 24/7.
