Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a Project Manager – Traffic Signals to lead traffic engineering projects, oversee design work, ITS initiatives, corridor studies, and safety reviews, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.

You will coordinate contracts, manage budgets and schedules, supervise staff, and collaborate with engineering teams to meet transportation goals while upholding city standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in traffic engineering, managing projects from conception to completion.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; TX license within six months after appointment if licensed elsewhere.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate transportation projects for the City of Dallas; monitor construction and manage project scope and completion.
• Track objectives, contracts, schedules, budgets, and communicate scope of work to stakeholders; drive project to completion.
• Learn and implement new processes to support transportation goals and program management.
• Plan budgets, determine labor and expenses, and handle contract requirements.
• Process internal requests for meetings, documents, and project updates.
• Research, plan, design, specify, and communicate project goals; foster collaboration to completion.
• Provide direction to staff involved in transportation projects and initiatives.
• Perform any and all other work as needed.
