Job summary

The City and County of Denver is seeking a Traffic Signal Technician III to maintain and repair traffic signal systems, cabinets, controllers and detectors. You will interpret wiring diagrams, adjust timing, and support the Transportation Operations team in a collaborative, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, four years of experience in traffic signal work, a valid CDL B by end of probation, and strong teamwork with a customer-first mindset.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Experience: four (4) years in traffic signal installation, construction, maintenance, or repair.
• Licenses/Certifications: valid Driver's License; CDL B by end of probation; IMSA cert preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex installation, construction, maintenance, and repair of traffic signal systems and devices.
• Inspect and repair signal controllers, cabinets, detectors, and related equipment.
• Program timing controllers and adjust signals as needed to improve flow.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams; operate and inspect equipment.
• Respond to complaints and investigate defective signals; document findings.
