Job summary

City and County of Denver’s Department of Transportation & Infrastructure seeks a Traffic Signal Technician I. The role maintains traffic signals, reads schematics, and performs field wiring and diagnostic work in all weather conditions.

You will log reports, assist with construction, and operate standard and light equipment. Candidates should have a high school diploma, 1 year of related experience, and a valid Driver’s License; a Colorado CDL‑B with endorsements by end of probation is

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED.
• One year of experience in traffic signal installation, construction, maintenance, or repair.
• Education/Experience equivalency may substitute for the minimum requirements.
• Requires a valid Driver’s License at the time of application.
• Possession of a Colorado CDL (B) with appropriate endorsements by end of probation.

Responsibilities

• Complete general maintenance of traffic signals.
• Assist with monitoring and programming timing controllers under supervision.
• Use MS Office to log daily reports and manage data.
• Assist with installation, repair, and equipment maintenance in various weather.
• Drive pickups and bucket trucks as needed; CDL may enable heavier tasks.
