South Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a field technician to install, program and repair traffic signals, highway lighting and related equipment. The role involves testing, preventive maintenance and documenting inspections in TEAMS or daily journals.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus at least 1 year of related experience, and hold a valid driver’s license; a Class A CDL must be obtained within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 1 year of related work experience, or equivalent.
• Must obtain Class A CDL within 6 months of placement.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform demanding field work.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours, including emergencies.
• Must meet SCDOT signal specifications and documentation requirements.

Responsabilités

• Install, program and repair traffic signals, highway lighting, and related equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and daily work reporting.
• Operate bucket trucks and heavy equipment for installation and repair.
• Respond promptly to complaints and after-hours emergencies and perform repairs.
• Document work in Daily Work Report/Journal and ensure contractor work is properly recorded.
