Job summary

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is seeking a Technical Operations Technician II for Basin, Wyoming. You will inspect, install, upgrade, and maintain electrical and traffic control devices across District 5 to keep roads safe and efficient for the public.

Located in Basin, the role requires knowledge of electrical theory, MUTCD standards, and field troubleshooting. A Class A CDL and IMSA certifications are preferred; a Bachelor’s degree may substitute for experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or 0-1 year plus degree-equivalent experience in Technical Operations.
  • 3-4 years of progressive technical operations experience at Technician I level.
  • Valid Class C driver's license may be required.
  • Must obtain IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level I within 2 years.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, inspect, and ensure proper operation of traffic signals and related devices.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs; assist in contractor installations.
  • Monitor operations remotely or in the field and manage site maintenance.
  • Provide traffic control and operate signs, signals, and related equipment.
