Job summary

Chinchor Electric, Inc. seeks a Traffic Signal Installer/ITS Technician to install and maintain traffic signals, inspect systems for code compliance, and service related equipment. This full-time role requires 1-2 years of signalization/ITS experience and offers growth opportunities with a family-owned contractor.

Based in Florida, the position may require travel and night work. Excellent benefits are provided, including training and certifications, with a pay rate starting at $24+ per hour

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Proficient in Blueprint reading.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• 1-2 years of signalization and/or ITS experience required.
• Class A CDL preferred (3+ years driving experience).

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain electronic traffic control devices.
• Assemble, install, service, test, repair, and adjust electrical and mechanical components of traffic signals and related equipment.
• Inspect electrical systems and equipment for code compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
Pay: $24+ Hourly, Based on Experience
Travel & night work may be required. MUST be able to work out of town and nights, on occasion.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not an entry- or apprentice-level position. Candidates must have relevant industry experience.

Traffic Signal Installer/ITS Technician Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the installation and maintenance of electronic traffic control devices.
• Assemble, install, service, test, repair, and adjust electrical and mechanical components of traffic signals and related equipment including traffic signal poles, overhead traffic signals, overhead signs, pedestrian features, and other related signal components.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to ensure code compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Roadway Signing experience *Preferred*
• FDOT project experience *Preferred*

Physical Demands

Must be able to perform multiple tasks and can handle the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to, digging using a shovel, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting at least 50lbs.
