Job summary

Pima County Transportation is seeking a Transportation Maintenance Specialist I to join the Signing team in Tucson. The role involves installing and maintaining ground-mounted traffic signs and documenting work using asset management software and sign inventory systems.

The position works four, ten-hour shifts, Monday to Thursday, with potential on-call overtime nights, weekends and holidays. Ideal candidates have an apprenticeship or journey-level experience in the trade, plus experience with

Qualifications

• Completion of an industry-recognized apprenticeship program in the trade or craft and one year of journey-level experience.
• Five years of journey-level experience in the trade, craft or operational area.
• Two years of experience with Pima County as a Trades Maintenance Technician in the same area.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain ground-mounted traffic signs.
• Inspect, service and maintain tools, equipment and vehicles.
• Prepare sketches/drawings for work and communicate needs to supervisors.
• Coordinate activities with other units or contractors to optimize resources.
