Job summary

The Bronx Sign Shop at the New York City Department of Transportation seeks a seasoned Superintendent to lead the production, installation, maintenance, and analysis of traffic control devices across boroughs. You will guide a small team, coordinate with DOT crews and contractors, and drive compliance with engineering SOPs.

You will prepare daily and monthly performance reports, manage material requisitions, and oversee field audits and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience as a Supervisor of Traffic Device Maintainers for NYC DOT or equivalent.
• Four years of recent, full-time experience maintaining, servicing and repairing mechanical equipment, with at least two years in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee production, installation, repair, and maintenance of traffic control devices and markings.
• Coordinate project implementation with DOT crews and DDC contractors.
• Provide technical guidance to Bronx Borough Engineer's Office and participate in field meetings with contractors.
• Prepare daily indicator reports and monthly summaries; evaluate work orders and manage material requisitions.
• Coordinate Street Improvement Projects and Vision Zero initiatives; serve as primary contact for facilities on upgrades and repairs.
• Utilize SIMS to streamline traffic sign installations; supervise two STDMs and manage CityTime records.
• Schedule work audits and ensure daily assignments comply with SOPs; manage Bronx Sign Shop stockroom operations.
