Job summary

AWP Safety is seeking personnel to operate as Protectors at various job sites. No experience required; training provided. You will set up traffic control, guide vehicles with a stop/slow paddle, and follow safety rules while working outdoors in all weather.

Shifts may include nights, weekends, or emergencies. PPE is provided; steel-toe boots must be worn by you. Pay ranges within the union level ($24.74–$25.85 per hour) with paid training and a traffic safety certificate.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Able to lift 40–50 pounds.
• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather.
• Flexible schedule; Show up on time, every shift.
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test.
• Stay alert around moving traffic and follow all safety rules.
• Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect.

Responsibilities

• Set up cones, signs, and barricades and take traffic control equipment down.
• Guide traffic with stop/slow paddle and monitor site activity.
• Follow safety rules taught in training.
• Communicate with crew and supervisor.
• Help keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
• Work outdoors year-round in all weather.
• Shifts may include nights, weekends, or emergency work.
• Stand or walk 8–12 hours per shift.
