Job summary

The Delaware Department of Transportation seeks an Engineer Program Manager I to oversee maintenance of traffic standards on construction projects, primarily using Delaware MUTCD and the Delaware Work Zone Safety & Mobility Procedures & Guidelines. This role leads design reviews for detours, transportation management plans, and MOT/phasing.

You will manage the OSOW program, guardrail analysis, and incidents or emergencies, with availability during severe weather and homeland security events.

Qualifications

• Valid Delaware Professional Engineering License or PE license from another US jurisdiction

Responsibilities

• Drafts, develops and modifies engineering designs, plans and specifications.
• Reviews permit applications, blueprints and/or designs to ensure compliance with specs/regulations.
• Applies scientific and mathematical principles to develop technical solutions.
• Plans and conducts field studies, surveys, and investigations to collect data and ensure compliance.
• Tests or evaluates materials, equipment, systems and facilities.
• Plans and coordinates engineering projects.
• Reviews, analyzes and reports on project status and regulatory conformance.
• Develops cost estimates for project time and materials.
• Provides technical guidance and training to staff.
