Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Traffic/Safety Engineering Intern for the Atlanta, GA office. You'll gain hands-on experience on traffic safety projects and receive mentorship from our transportation engineering team.

Your role includes assisting engineers, analyzing crash data, and supporting design studies while developing standard engineering skills and collaborating across projects within a diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Must have completed at least one year of study.
• Experience with data visualization tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Traffic Safety and Traffic Operations professionals as needed.
• Research and analyze vehicular and vulnerable road user crash data.
• Provide analysis to support development of design or operational ideas and solutions.
• Develop an awareness of standard engineering practices, techniques, and procedures.
• Research alternate solutions and design options in support of the project team.
• Assist in preparation of studies, conceptual designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and working drawings.
• Communicate and collaborate in a team environment and adapt to dynamic project needs.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field

At least one year of study completed
