Job summary

Montgomery County seeks a Community Traffic Safety Program Coordinator (PennDOT Grant) to coordinate and implement traffic safety education and public awareness activities across Montgomery County, under the guidance of the Supervisor of Community Traffic Safety.

This grant-funded position requires developing materials, promoting initiatives, attending meetings, pursuing professional development (CPST, CarFit), traveling across the county, and ensuring compliance with clearances and on-site

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or related field.
• Knowledge of public health education principles.
• Familiarity with traffic safety topics.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Computer literate with recent work experience using a computer.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to travel across the county and work flexible hours.
• Clearances: Child Abuse History, PA Criminal Record, FBI Fingerprint.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and conduct health education programming across twelve traffic safety focus areas.
• Develop and distribute traffic safety materials for organizations and events.
• Promote traffic safety initiatives via press releases and media campaigns.
• Assist in grant reporting, budgeting, and grant writing.
• Attend PennDOT meetings, trainings, and conferences.
• Pursue professional development/certification (CPST, CarFit).
• Serve as departmental liaison at meetings and task forces.
• Travel throughout the county as needed; onsite attendance required.
