Job summary

HNTB is seeking a qualified engineering professional in Columbia, SC, to manage project planning and maintain deadlines and budgets. Responsibilities include mentoring team members and coordinating with various disciplines to achieve project goals.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Engineering along with relevant experience in the field. A Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred, along with proficiency in Traffic Analysis tools.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree.
• 5+ years of relevant experience with a Master's degree.
• 4+ years of relevant experience with a PhD.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning and distribution of work within the project schedule.
• Assist in proposal generation for marketing efforts.

What You'll Do

• Responsible for the planning and distribution of discipline-specific work, and adherence to the schedule and budget on projects.
• Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
• Assists with the development of scope of work and level of effort for projects and/or assignments within discipline.
• Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work within the technical discipline. Guides and mentors team to overall project objectives.
• Coordinates technical aspects of project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline.
• Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience.
• PhD in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience.

What You'll Bring

• Understands the impacts of decisions on technical design, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinates work planning and design effectively across multiple technical disciplines.
• Prepares high quality deliverables that are on time, and within budget and scope.

What We Prefer

• 8 years relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
• Proficiency in Traffic Analysis tools like Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, TransModeler, TransCad, and Sidra.
• Previous project management or task management experience.
