Job summary

HDR is seeking a Traffic & Planning Intern in Missouri to gain real-world experience applying standard engineering techniques in traffic planning, analysis and design. You will work under supervision to assist with identifying needs, developing mitigation strategies, and supporting traffic design.

Connect with recent graduates and company leaders through mentoring programs. This role offers exposure to HDR's employee-owned culture and diverse transportation projects.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • Active participant in our employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

  • Gain real-world experience on projects by applying engineering techniques in traffic planning, analysis and design.
  • Work under supervision of more senior Engineers and Planners to identify needs and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Mentoring opportunities with recent graduates and company leaders.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Traffic & Planning Intern

Gain real-world experience on exciting projects by applying standard engineering techniques and procedures in the areas of traffic planning, analysis and design.

Work under the guidance and direct supervision of a more senior-level Engineers and Planners to assist with identifying existing and future transportation needs, conducting traffic operational and safety assessments, developing mitigation strategies and supporting traffic design.

Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals’ programs.

Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
  • Preference given to local candidates
Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
