Job summary

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) invites students to join its paid college internship program in District 3, Ashland, Ohio. Interns gain hands-on exposure across Planning, Engineering, Construction and Environmental sections while supporting real projects and data collection.

Enrolled students in good standing receive hourly compensation ranging from $19.50 to $24.00, with flexible hours around class schedules and opportunities to contribute to safer, well-maintained roadways

Qualifications

• Active Learning and attention to detail are essential for gathering and analyzing field data.
• Strong teamwork and listening skills support cross-functional collaboration in Planning, Engineering, Construction and Environmental tasks.
• Must be enrolled in a college or university program and in good academic standing.
• This internship is paid and offers flexible hours around your school schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning activities in traffic engineering studies and data collection.
• Assist in collecting field data, reviewing plans, and environmental noise wall studies.
• Learn PC-based and mainframe CADD systems (MicroStation/OpenRoads) and survey methods.
• Support project team in inspection and report preparation across sections.
