Job summary

City of McAllen is seeking a Deputy Director of Traffic Operations to oversee the daily activities of the Traffic Operations division and supervise department personnel.

The Deputy Director will ensure that all traffic control devices within City Right-of-Way comply with the TMUTCD, directing design, installation and maintenance, and will coordinate street lighting with local utility companies to support traffic safety.

Under administrative direction of the Traffic Operations Director, the Traffic Operations Deputy Director is responsible for the daily activities and functions of the Traffic Operations division and all services and products performed by department personnel. The Deputy Director is responsible for the implementation of all traffic control devices within City Right-of-Way for traffic safety to include: design, installation and maintenance of traffic control devices as required in the latest version of the Texas Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices (TMUTCD,) and coordination of street lighting with various local electric utility companies.
