Job summary

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is seeking a Traffic Operations Supervisor to oversee the Highway Patrol Traffic Operations Center (HPTOC) operations and staff. The role includes budget management, policy development, and coordination with Arizona state agencies and safety partners.

Requires three years of law enforcement or dispatcher experience, with supervisory duties, and POST instructor certification within 12 months. A valid Arizona driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Three years of law enforcement experience as an Arizona POST-certified officer or dispatcher.
• At least one year in a supervisory role.
• Must obtain Arizona POST general instructor certification within twelve (12) months of hire.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Management, Leadership, Criminal Justice, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Oversees HPTOC operations and budgetary responsibilities.
• Supervises professional staff and administers daily HPTOC operations.
• Researches and recommends changes to HPTOC policies.
• Coordinates with State Troopers, ADOT, and other public and highway safety entities.
• Monitors traffic conditions and assists with traffic incident management.
