The Traffic Engineering Technician position is located within the Cobb County Department of Transportation's Traffic Engineering Division. This role supports the management of the County’s traffic calming program by overseeing its daily operations. Responsibilities include maintaining traffic volume data collection efforts and accident databases, with regular collaboration with residents and internal departments. The role involves both field work and office/computer tasks.
High School diploma or GED, plus two years of experience in traffic engineering principles. Valid Driver's License required.
Moderate physical effort involving stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects of 12-20 pounds. Ability to perceive colors, sounds, textures, and visual cues. Oral communication skills required.
Work is performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
