Job summary

The Texas Department of Transportation Bryan District invites applications for General Engineering Tech I or II in the Traffic Section at Bryan HQ. This position supports transportation engineering tasks, inspection, plan review, and coordination with contractors to ensure safe and efficient roadways.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma. Tech I requires 4 years of experience, Tech II requires 6 years, with a valid driver’s license and CDL.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Grad or Equivalent.
  • Experience: Tech I: 4 years; Tech II: 6 years in transportation engineering support.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and coordinates advanced transportation engineering operations or maintenance support work including inspection and contract oversight.
  • Reviews plans, estimates, field changes and ensures compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Coordinates traffic control plans with law enforcement and monitors lane closures.
  • Maintains construction records and ensures federal and state program compliance.
