Job summary

Orionplacement is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer with 6+ years in traffic or transportation engineering to lead high-impact projects in Omaha. You will mentor staff, manage budgets and client expectations, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, effective mobility solutions.

You will actively contribute to business development, client relationships, and project pursuits while guiding a growing team in a collaborative, on-site setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 6+ years of traffic or transportation engineering experience.
  • 1+ year of project leadership and engineering staff management experience.
  • Strong project management, communication, and client relationship skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Business development experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead traffic engineering and transportation projects from planning through successful completion.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and client expectations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for municipal, agency, and private-sector clients.
  • Provide technical leadership for traffic engineering, transportation planning, and ITS projects.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop engineering staff while supporting team growth.
  • Review designs, reports, and project deliverables to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Support business development through client relationship management, proposal preparation, and project pursuits.
  • Identify project risks and proactively develop solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Help strengthen and expand the firm's traffic engineering practice.

Pay: $140,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
