Job summary

Alliant Engineering, Inc. in Tampa, FL, is seeking a Traffic Intern to join our employee-owned firm. You will work with a talented team to conduct traffic signal operations analyses, traffic impact studies, and assist with signal timing projects.

This role offers exposure to traffic design, safety analyses, field reviews, and transportation study reports while you develop engineering skills in a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Assist with preliminary and final design of projects – signals, ITS, signing and pavement markings.
• Perform traffic analysis and simulation modeling for transportation studies and corridor design projects.
• Support the development of traffic signal timing plans for urban arterials.
• Perform safety analyses for transportation plans.
• Conduct field reviews and data collection in support of current projects.
• Assist with preparation of transportation study reports and supporting documents.
• Coordinate design decisions with other engineering disciplines.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost-effective, and compliant manner.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
