Job summary

Langan is seeking an Intern - Traffic Engineering to join its collaborative team in Chicago, IL, Pittsburgh, PA, or Cleveland, OH. This role provides exposure to traffic/transportation project work including impact studies, parking studies, traffic signal design, and HOP plans.

Field work, report prep, and data collection may be required. Ideal candidates are Civil or Traffic Engineering/Transportation Planning students with a 3.0+ GPA, familiarity with AutoCAD/MicroStation, and strong

Qualifications

• Student actively pursuing a four year or advanced degree in Civil or Traffic Engineering / Transportation Planning.
• GPA 3.0+ preferred; familiarity with MUTCD desirable.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or SoftDesk civil software is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal; strong attention to detail; able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic observation; prepare technical reports, calculations, design plans and specifications for traffic/transportation projects such as transportation impact studies, highway occupancy permits, traffic signals, traffic and pedestrian circulation, and transportation master plans; observe construction; and perform other duties as requested.
• Prepare technical reports and calculations for traffic studies and plans.
• Assist the Site/Civil group and travel may be required based on business needs.
