Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services seeks an Intern/Co-op - Traffic Engineering to join its team in Pittsburgh, PA. The role offers exposure to transportation impact studies, parking studies, traffic event management for large stadiums, traffic signal design, and HOP plans.

You may perform field work, report preparation, data collection, and collaboration with the Site/Civil group. Ideal candidates are pursuing a Civil/Traffic Engineering degree, with strong communication and teamwork

Qualifications

• Pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Civil/Traffic Engineering or Transportation Planning.
• GPA 3.0+ preferred.
• Familiarity with HCS, SYNCHRO and MUTCD is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or SoftDesk civil software are a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Travel may be required based on business needs and project assignments.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic observation.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, design plans and specifications for traffic/transportation projects such as transportation impact studies, highway occupancy permits, traffic signals, traffic and pedestrian circulation, and transportation master plans.
• Observe construction.
• Perform other duties as requested.
