Kimley-Horn's Reston, Virginia office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join their Transportation/Traffic team. This is not a remote position.

The role emphasizes hands-on traffic engineering project delivery, mentorship, and opportunities to grow in project management, client interactions, and business development. Base salary range is $90,000 to $105,000 with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of traffic engineering experience, including studies and analyses.
• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree required.
• Engineer-In-Training or Engineering Intern certification or eligible within 12 months.
• Experience using traffic analysis software (Synchro, VISSIM) and strong writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic engineering and project management tasks for transportation projects.
• Contribute to growth of the transportation practice and mentor junior staff.
• Assist with project profitability and client interactions.
• Engage hands-on in project delivery and plan production.
