Job summary

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is seeking an Engineering Technician 5 for the Headquarters Traffic Engineering Section in Baton Rouge. The role coordinates advanced traffic data collection activities and reviews traffic engineering studies to improve safety and efficiency of the state's transportation network.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to coordinate multiple assignments, and proficient in data collection, analysis, and CADD-based traffic

Qualifications

• Experience in traffic data collection and analysis.
• Familiarity with traffic studies, plan reviews, and traffic engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates traffic data collection activities with District personnel and other stakeholders.
• Leads traffic data collection and analysis, including turning movement counts, 24-hour counts, speed studies, and diagram development.
• Compiles, analyzes, and presents data to develop recommendations for corrective action.
• Uses CADD to develop traffic control plans, signal inventories, and related designs.
• Reviews traffic engineering studies, plans, and specifications including speed, pedestrian, and signal plans.
