DOTD is seeking a Data Collection / Asset Management Engineer to support transportation projects and programs through transportation data collection, asset management systems, data analysis, reporting, and development of products that support data-driven transportation decisions. This position supports the development, delivery, maintenance, or improvement of transportation infrastructure by applying engineering principles, conducting technical analysis, coordinating projects, and conducting compliance-related reviews.
Positions are located in East Baton Rouge Parish, and reports to the Engineer 6/Equipment Engineer.
While in an official capacity, DOTD employees must comply with applicable Louisiana and Civil Services laws, rules, and regulations, as well as DOTD policies, procedures, manuals, and directives.
Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice professional engineering.
NOTE: Applications will be accepted from persons licensed to practice professional engineering in states other than Louisiana. If one of those applicants is selected for the position, he/she will be required to obtain a Louisiana license prior to appointment. The hiring agency will verify that all licensing requirements are met.

Career Progression: This position is part of a Career Progression Group and may be filled as an Engineer 3, Engineer 4, or Engineer 5.
Compensation: The following reflects the beginning biweekly salary for each level. A Special Entrance Rate (SER) may apply to qualifying positions.
Additional compensation may be considered impart with extraordinary qualifications in accordance with State Civil Service Rules and DOTD policy.
Appointment Type: This position may be filled as either a probational appointment (open to all qualified applicants); a promotion (open to all statewide classified and Agency-wide permanent status employees); Job Appointment (temporary appointment in a classified position for a limit of four years); or by detail to special duty.
