Job summary

The City of Everett is seeking an Associate Engineer in the Traffic Division to plan, design, and manage traffic engineering projects including signals and illumination systems. You will prepare designs, reports, and collaborate with the public and business community to ensure timely delivery.

Open to PE or NPE candidates; requires civil engineering degree and relevant experience. Competitive benefits and a strong retirement plan accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• 4 years’ experience in civil, design, utility, or construction engineering.
• EIT license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop traffic signal, illumination, channelization, signing, and ITS design plans, specifications, and estimates.
• Communicate technical traffic engineering concepts to citizens and the public.
• Plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work in major city projects.
• Prepare RFPs and bids; review bids; coordinate consultants and design work.
