Job summary

Apex is hiring a Transportation/Traffic Engineer in Florida to lead traffic projects across the state. You will work with FDOT and municipalities, applying modeling tools and design standards. A PE license or eligibility within six months is required, with 3+ years of traffic/transportation experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Florida PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 3+ years of experience in traffic/transportation engineering.
• Valid driver's license; clean driving history.
• Sponsorship not available now or in the future.
• HCS preferred; MicroStation or AutoCAD preferred.
• Experience with Traffic Impact Statements for local municipalities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage FDOT Driveway Connection Permit applications with technical docs and FDOT coordination.
• Develop Traffic Impact Statements (TIS) for cities/counties in Florida.
• Conduct operational analyses and traffic modeling with Synchro/SimTraffic.
• Perform traffic signal design and timing/coordinator plans per standards.
• Prepare reports, design documents, and supporting calculations.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers and permitting agencies.
• Support multidisciplinary transportation projects.
