Apex Companies is seeking a skilled Traffic Engineer to join our growing team in Florida. The ideal candidate will hold a PE license in Florida or be eligible to obtain one within six months, with hands-on experience in statewide transportation and traffic projects, FDOT coordination, and local agency interfaces.

You’ll prepare permit applications, develop Traffic Impact Statements, run traffic models, design signals, and collaborate with clients and permitting agencies, joining a 2,000+

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Florida PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 3+ years of experience in traffic or transportation engineering.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving history.
• Sponsorship not available now or in the future.
• Proficiency in Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, MicroStation or AutoCAD.
• Experience with FDOT driveway connection permitting, Traffic Impact Statements, and traffic signal design.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage FDOT Driveway Connection Permit applications with technical documentation.
• Develop Traffic Impact Statements for cities and counties across Florida.
• Conduct operational analyses and traffic modeling using Synchro/SimTraffic.
• Perform traffic signal design with FDOT and local agency coordination.
• Prepare technical reports, design documents, and supporting calculations.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers, and permitting agencies.
• Support multidisciplinary teams on transportation projects.
