Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a skilled Traffic Engineer to lead transportation projects across Florida. The ideal candidate will hold a Florida PE license or be eligible to obtain one within six months and have hands-on experience with FDOT and local agencies, including driveway permitting and traffic signal design.

Responsibilities include preparing permit applications, developing Traffic Impact Statements, performing LOS analyses, and coordinating with clients and permitting agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
• Florida PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months required.
• 3+ years of experience in traffic or transportation engineering required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage FDOT Driveway Connection Permit applications with documentation and coordination.
• Develop Traffic Impact Statements for cities/counties across Florida.
• Conduct operational analyses and traffic modeling using Synchro/SimTraffic; LOS evaluation.
• Perform traffic signal design with FDOT/local agency standards.
• Prepare technical reports, design documents, and supporting calculations.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers, and permitting agencies.
• Support multidisciplinary teams on transportation projects.
