Job summary

GRAEF, a leading U.S. consulting firm, is seeking a Traffic Engineer for our corporate headquarters in downtown Milwaukee, WI. You will prepare traffic impact analyses, transportation planning studies, signal design and timings, microsimulation, and related studies for diverse clients.

Qualified candidates hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering with a transportation focus and 3+ years of relevant experience. Familiarity with HCS, SYNCHRO/SimTraffic, VISSIM, IHSDM, AutoCAD is desirable.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in transportation or traffic engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant traffic engineering experience.
• Interest in obtaining future PE licensure and PTOE/RSP certification.
• Demonstrated ability to work on multiple complex assignments and establish priorities.
• Experience with Highway Capacity Software (HCS) and SYNCHRO/SimTraffic; ability to guide staff.

As a Traffic Engineer at GRAEF, enjoy responsibilities that include:

• Prepare traffic impact analysis studies, transportation planning studies, traffic signal design and timings, microsimulation and modeling services, roundabout feasibility studies, parking studies, and safety studies for public and private-sector clients.

We are considering Traffic Engineer candidates to join our team who possess the following basic qualifications:

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in transportation or traffic engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant traffic engineering experience.
• Interested in obtaining future PE licensure and Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) and/or Road Safety Professional (RSP) certification.
• Demonstrated ability to work on multiple complex assignments and establish priorities.
• Experience with Highway Capacity Software (HCS), SYNCHRO / SimTraffic, including the ability to guide staff and review technical work.
• Experience with VISSIM, IHSDM and AutoCAD, is a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with traffic engineering guidelines, including: WisDOT, ITE, FHWA, AASHTO, and MUTCD publications for preparation of traffic studies.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
