Surge Staffing is seeking a Traffic/Transportation Engineer in the Columbus, OH area to support transportation and traffic engineering projects, including traffic impact studies, signal design, signage, pavement markings, MOT, and field reviews.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree, understands traffic planning, and is eager to grow toward PE licensure, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Foundational knowledge of traffic engineering and transportation planning.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Traffic Access and Traffic Impact Studies per standards.
• Design 2D and 3D traffic plans using engineering software.
• Develop signal plans, signage, and pavement marking plans.
• Create MOT and traffic control phasing plans.
• Perform signal optimization and timing plans.
• Analyze transportation systems and traffic conditions.
• Support development of traffic management strategies.
• Coordinate with clients, municipalities, and project teams.
• Assist with project schedules, documentation, and deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards.
• Participate in field reviews and site visits.
