• Licensed CA Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of traffic engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, and VISSIM.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.
• Working knowledge of CA MUTCD, Caltrans standards, and CEQA/VMT analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare traffic impact studies (TIS), VMT/CEQA transportation analyses, parking studies, and site circulation reviews.
• Perform traffic operations analysis using Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, and VISSIM.
• Prepare intersection design, traffic signal, signing and striping, and temporary traffic control plans.
• Perform traffic data collection, turning movement analysis, and parking utilization studies.
• Coordinate with cities, counties, Caltrans, and other agencies on processing and permitting.
• Prepare construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.
• Assist with proposals, scopes, and fee estimates.
• Support project managers with project schedules, budgets, and client communication.
• Ensure quality control on all deliverables.

Masson & Associates is growing our traffic engineering practice and seeking a Traffic Engineer with at least 3 years of experience to support traffic studies, design, and consulting services for public and private sector clients throughout Southern California. The ideal candidate will have progressive traffic engineering experience in California, strong technical and analytical skills, and be motivated to grow with a collaborative team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing traffic studies and analyses, developing roadway design documents, coordinating with public agencies, and supporting project managers on schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of traffic engineering experience
• Proficiency with Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, and VISSIM

• Working knowledge of the California MUTCD, Caltrans standards, and CEQA/VMT analysis
• PTOE certification is considered an asset
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits
