Job summary

Woolpert, Inc. seeks a Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation team in Pennsylvania offices. You will design traffic signals, sign and pavement markings, traffic control plans, and perform traffic impact studies and crash analyses with potential to sign and seal PA plans.

The role is hybrid, with office time negotiable; a PA-licensed PE or ability to obtain one is required, along with a Civil 3D/Bentley/Microsoft software toolkit. U.S. work authorization is mandatory.

• 4+ years of traffic engineering experience preferred.

Position Overview

Woolpert is hiring a hiring a Traffic Engineer to join our dynamic Transportation team at any of our Pennsylvania offices. This position reports to the National Traffic Team Leadand is responsible for completing traffic signal design plans and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) services, in addition to, but not limited to signing and pavement marking plans, traffic control design, traffic impact studies, crash analysis, traffic calming designs, HOP reviews, etc.

Candidate is preferred to sit in one of our Pennsylvania offices (Harrisburg, Sharpsburg or King of Prussia). This is still a hybrid role and time in the office is negotiable.

We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located.

What You Will Do:

• Performs engineering computations, conducts evaluations, design analyses, and design development.
• Prepares reports, recommendations and opinions for approval.
• Aid in design or oversee staff in the design of projects.
• Applies standard engineering practices and techniques to adjust and correlate data; recognizes and resolves discrepancies in results and follows operations through a series of related steps or processes.
• Works as a member of project team in the development of data and/or applications.
• Willing and able to sign and seal plans in the State of Pennsylvania or the ability to file for reciprocity.
• Ability and willingness to work across geographies. This is in terms of work type, not necessarily required to travel.
• Able to help train and mentor less experienced staff.

What You Will Bring:

• Must have 4 years related experience.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
• Experience in the field of Traffic Engineering is required.
• PE License or the ability to obtain one is required.
• Experience in Civil 3D or Bentley/Microsoft products is required.
• Must be able to read, analyze and interpret basic scientific, technical, financial and legal documents.
• Must be able to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
• Must have average verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external relationships.
• Must be able to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, and/or members of the business community.
• Must have Microsoft Office suite skills.
• Must be familiar with discipline related software applications.

Pay Range

$101,200 — $151,800 USD
