Job summary

Woolpert is seeking a Traffic Engineer to join their Transportation team in Pennsylvania. In this hybrid role, you'll complete traffic signal design, traffic impact studies, and more while working with other team members to enhance engineering operations.

A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and 4 years of related experience are necessary for this position. The ideal candidate will also possess strong communication skills and experience with Civil 3D or Bentley/Microsoft products.

Job description

Position Overview

Woolpert is hiring a Traffic Engineer to join our dynamic Transportation team in Pennsylvania (Harrisburg, Sharpsburg, or King of Prussia). This hybrid role reports to the National Traffic Team Lead and is responsible for completing traffic signal design plans and ADA services, as well as traffic control design, traffic impact studies, crash analysis, traffic calming designs, HOP reviews, and more.

Work in the office is negotiable. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship; applicants must possess work authorization in the United States.

Qualified candidates may be eligible for a signing bonus up to $5,000, contingent upon 12 months of service.

What You Will Do
  • Perform engineering computations, evaluations, design analyses, and design development.
  • Prepare reports, recommendations and opinions for approval.
  • Assist in or oversee staff design of projects.
  • Apply standard engineering practices and techniques to adjust and correlate data, recognize and resolve discrepancies, and follow operations through related steps.
  • Work as a member of project teams developing data and/or applications.
  • Be willing and able to sign and seal plans in Pennsylvania or file for reciprocity.
  • Work across geographies; travel is not required.
  • Help train and mentor less experienced staff.
What You Will Bring
  • At least 4 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • Experience in traffic engineering.
  • PE license or ability to obtain one.
  • Experience with Civil 3D or Bentley/Microsoft products.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents.
  • Proficiency in mathematical analysis (frequency distribution, reliability, variance, correlation, sampling, factor analysis).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective client and regulatory interactions.
  • Microsoft Office suite skills.
  • Familiarity with discipline-related software applications.

Pay Range

$101,200—$126,500 USD
