Job Overview

RINA is seeking a Traffic Engineer to join its office in Chicago or Lisle, IL or Columbus, OH. Remote work from other Midwest locations may be considered. The role involves leading traffic engineering projects, ensuring quality and client satisfaction, and coordinating across disciplines.

Responsibilities

1. Designs, CAD drawings, and specifications for projects under the guidance of the Project Manager.
2. Collaborates with project team members, departments, suppliers, and clients.
3. Coordinates with drafters, designers, and staff engineers.
4. Responsible for design calculations and plan development.
5. Completes drawings and project tasks within scope, budget, and schedule.
6. Develops engineering documents like studies and design criteria.
7. Uses engineering software for tasks and performs fieldwork as needed.
8. Ensures safety procedures are followed and reports unsafe conditions.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• BSc in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 8+ years of design engineering experience.
• PE license preferred; PTOE is a plus.
• Proficiency in MicroStation Open Roads Designer, AutoCAD, MicroStation.
• Experience with traffic project design.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other engineering software.

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Occasional regional travel may be required.
