Job summary

Fishbeck is seeking a Traffic Engineer in Michigan to lead traffic studies, modeling, forecasting, and signal operations within the Transportation Department.

You will prepare traffic impact and safety studies, develop maintenance of traffic plans, and collaborate with MDOT and other partners while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree.
• 2+ years of traffic engineering experience.
• Experience with the ITE Trip Generation Manual and performing traffic studies.
• Preferred knowledge of MDOT traffic standards and guidelines.
• Experience with Highway Capacity Software, Synchro, Vissim, Rodel and MicroStation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare traffic impact studies, safety studies, signal optimization analyses, and traffic forecasts.
• Perform intersection and roadway traffic modeling.
• Conduct roundabout analysis and geometric evaluations.
• Develop maintenance of traffic plans using traffic data.
• Write reports and support traffic signal design and operations.
• Interact with clients, including MDOT, local agencies, consulting partners, and contractors.
• Assist with project budgets, schedules, and technical proposals.
• Manage tasks, mentor staff, and collaborate with transportation professionals across Fishbeck offices.

Employment Type: Full-time

Working with our Transportation Department, you will support and lead traffic engineering projects, including traffic studies, modeling, forecasting, signal operations, maintenance of traffic plans, and client coordination.

What You’ll Do
