Job summary

Jacobs in New York is seeking a civil engineer specializing in traffic to join our highway design team. You’ll contribute to corridor studies, capacity analyses, traffic simulations, MPT/MOT planning, and related roadway projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
  • Substantial postgraduate years of professional traffic engineering experience.
  • EIT preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with traffic analysis software (Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, CORSIM, HCS).
  • Experience with design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads-SS4, etc.) and their application in roadway, highway, intersection, and interchange design.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct traffic engineering tasks including corridor studies and intersection capacity analysis.
  • Perform traffic simulation, MPT/MOT planning, and transportation impact analysis.
  • Assess pedestrian and transit studies, traffic signal design, and crash analysis for roadway projects.
  • Prepare signing and marking plans and other traffic-engineering work for roadway and bridge projects.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $85,000.00 to $110,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
