Job summary

DRMP is seeking a Traffic Design Intern in Charlotte, NC, to gain hands-on experience in civil engineering within the Transportation department. This internship exposes you to traffic signal design, traffic control, and pavement marking design tasks, while you support engineering and planning projects.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering, you will develop technical skills, learn GIS tools, and contribute to deliverables and reports under guidance.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to learn GIS applications.

Responsibilities

• Work on traffic signal design, traffic control design, signing and pavement marking design functions.
• Provides technical support for engineering, planning and administrative projects.
• Supports evaluations using various software programs.
• Assists with the development and production of project deliverables, including written documentation and graphics.
