DRMP is seeking a Traffic Design Intern in Charlotte, NC, to gain hands-on experience in civil engineering within the Transportation department. This internship exposes you to traffic signal design, traffic control, and pavement marking design tasks, while you support engineering and planning projects.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering, you will develop technical skills, learn GIS tools, and contribute to deliverables and reports under guidance.

*Internships can last anywhere from 3 months to 24 months - depending on mutual interest and availability. Through DRMP’s college internship opportunity, students will gain practical experience while earning an engineering degree and exploring a potential career path in Engineering. This internship supports the Drainage team.

Your Primary Responsibilities will include

• Work on traffic signal design, traffic control design, signing and pavement marking design functions
• Provides technical support for engineering, planning and administrative projects.

• Ability to learn and use relevant software programs including but not limited to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications

• Effective writing skills to assist with report writing, proposal preparation, and engineering/construction cost estimates.
• Able to work effectively in group settings or as an individual.
