WD Wright Contracting in the Town of Florida is looking for a Traffic Controller to manage traffic flow at construction sites and ensure the safety of workers and pedestrians. Responsibilities include setting up work zones with cones and signs, maintaining safety standards, and completing necessary paperwork.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and be physically capable of performing flagging duties in various weather conditions. A valid driver's license is preferred.
The Traffic Controller works with construction teams to ensure automobiles and pedestrians do not interfere with, or pose a danger to, laborers and their projects. Candidates must become certified in basic traffic safety techniques by attending a training class provided by the company. The Traffic Controller must create a safe work zone that ensures traffic does not cause a threat to the workers. This involves setting up cones and barriers that show traffic where to drive, as well as holding up signs that tell traffic to either stop or to proceed slowly. Traffic Controllers must constantly be aware of both the construction and traffic activity taking place around them. Compliance with all safety regulations is mandatory.
