Job summary

WD Wright Contracting is seeking a Traffic Controller for construction sites in Jacksonville, FL. This entry-level role requires no prior experience and includes on-the-job training, weekly pay, and overtime opportunities.

You will set up safe work zones, place signs, cones, and barriers, and coordinate with teams to prevent hazards. The position emphasizes safety, reliability, and physical stamina; a valid driver's license is preferred and you must pass a drug screen.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills required.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions and tolerate varying climates.

Responsibilities

• Setup, maintain, and remove temporary work zones including warning signs, traffic cones, and rumble strips according to ATSSA and DOT regulations.
• Load and unload work zone equipment to and from the company vehicle at the job site.
• Complete and submit all necessary paperwork in a timely manner before leaving the last job site.
• Wear and maintain proper PPE in accordance with Wright specific policy.
• Ensure that company vehicles are kept clean and orderly and inform management of any safety concerns or vehicle problems.
• Read and understand Wright safety manual and employee handbook.
• Reports directly to a Field Supervisor.
• Other job duties as assigned.
