Job summary

WD Wright Contracting in Indianapolis, Indiana is hiring an entry-level Traffic Controller. No experience is required; on-the-job training, weekly pay, and overtime are offered. You will help create safe work zones, set up cones and signs, and coordinate with construction crews to protect workers.

Candidates must be 18+ years old, with a smartphone for scheduling, and the ability to lift 50 pounds. A drug screen is required, and training will certify you in basic traffic safety.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Smartphone with internet access for timekeeping and communication to receive work schedule.
• Be able to stand throughout your entire shift; hand and arm movement required.
• Pass a drug screen prior to employment and maintain a drug-free status.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Have reliable transportation to and from job sites. Driving to job site or meeting location is voluntary carpooling for convenience.

Responsibilities

• Setup, maintain, and remove temporary work zones including warning signs, traffic cones, and rumble strips according to ATSSA and DOT regulations.
• Load and unload work zone equipment to and from the company vehicle at the job site.
• Complete and submit all necessary paperwork in a timely manner before leaving the last job site.
• Wear and maintain proper PPE in accordance with Wright specific policy.
• Ensure that company vehicles are kept clean and orderly and inform management of any safety concerns or vehicle problems.
• Review start time and address of job site or meeting location as established and sent by office scheduler.
