Safety Sensitive Position

Job Description

This role supports AWP’s core values by protecting our customers’ people, businesses, and time. Responsibilities include controlling traffic flow in work zones using hand signals and STOP/SLOW paddles, reviewing and executing traffic control plans, and coordinating with customers for safety.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices according to guidelines and plans.
• Maintain a Flagging Station, controlling road users with hand signals.
• Transport equipment and team members safely to and from work sites.
• Communicate effectively with team members via radio.
• Follow all safety procedures and report safety issues.
• Complete required training within designated timeframes.
• Provide on-the-job training and mentoring.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Traffic Control Technician (TCT) Certification or 2000+ hours verified experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in traffic control, utility, or construction preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license without suspensions.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Must handle physical demands including lifting objects up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions and noisy environments.
