Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Traffic Control Superintendent in Sutter, CA. The Traffic Control Superintendent is responsible for overseeing multiple field crews across active work zones, ensuring all traffic control operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with applicable state, DOT, and project-specific requirements. This role requires a hands-on leader who conducts regular jobsite visits, enforces traffic control plans, and holds crews accountable to the highest standards of work zone safety. The ideal candidate is an experienced traffic control professional with a proven background in field supervision, crew development, and work zone safety management.

Responsibilities:
- Supervise multiple traffic control crews operating across active project sites, ensuring safe and compliant work zone establishment and maintenance.
- Conduct regular jobsite visits and field spot checks to monitor crew performance, equipment placement, and adherence to traffic control plans and project specifications.
- Monitor the placement and condition of signs, cones, barricades, channelizing devices, and other traffic control equipment throughout assigned work zones.
- Identify and immediately correct unsafe work practices, ensuring all personnel follow established safety procedures and company policies.
- Coach, mentor, and develop field employees and crew leaders, providing ongoing performance feedback, attendance monitoring, and corrective action as needed.
- Coordinate crew assignments and field resource allocation based on project requirements and operational priorities.
- Serve as the primary point of communication between field crews, project teams, customers, and contractors to resolve operational issues and respond to changing field conditions.
- Assist with training employees on traffic control procedures, traffic control plan interpretation, and safe work practices.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable state, DOT, and project-specific requirements, and that required project and safety documentation is maintained accurately.
- Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture across all assigned crews and work zones.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience supervising traffic control field crews across multiple concurrent project sites.
- Working knowledge of traffic control plans, work zone safety standards, and applicable state and DOT requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret traffic control plans and project specifications.
- Proven ability to identify hazardous conditions in active work zones and implement immediate corrective measures.
- Strong leadership skills with experience coaching, developing, and managing the performance of field personnel and crew leaders.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with project teams, customers, contractors, and field personnel.
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively to changing field conditions and operational challenges.
- Experience maintaining project records, safety documentation, and compliance reporting.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel regularly between multiple active project sites.
- Monday through Friday schedule availability with flexibility to respond to field operational needs as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in an outdoor, active roadway and construction work zone environment in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move throughout active work zones for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry traffic control equipment such as cones, signs, and barricades, up to 50 pounds.
- Must be aware of and comply with applicable OSHA and work zone safety standards.
- May be exposed to high-traffic environments, loud noise, and moving vehicles.
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, and bending required.
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and travel between multiple project sites on a daily basis.
Pay Transparency:
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $23 to $25 annually, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
